Bed Republic offers a 10-year warranty that covers manufacturing defects in materials and construction on mattresses and box springs.
How long is the warranty valid for?
This warranty is valid for 10 years from the date of purchase. The invoice is required as proof of purchase.
What are the conditions for applying the guarantee?
The warranty applies to new products sold by Bed Republic. It covers the repair or replacement of the product if a manufacturing defect in the materials that may affect the normal and safe use of the product appears during the entire warranty period offered from the date of purchase.
The Bed Republic warranty applies only to the original purchaser acting as a consumer. It is non-transferable. It applies only to domestic use. The warranty does not apply without presentation of the invoice in the case of distance selling. Keep your proof of purchase in a safe place.
What does the warranty cover?
The warranty covers the repair or replacement of the product if a manufacturing defect in the materials appears during the entire warranty period offered from the date of purchase, in the following components of mattresses and box springs:
- Wooden frame and springs in the mattress base.
- Springs in pocket spring mattresses.
- Foam core in foam mattresses.
- Latex core in latex mattresses.
- Wooden frame and slats of slatted bases.
All mattress toppers are excluded from the 10-year warranty.
Apart from the implementation of the legal guarantee, Bed Republic will examine the product, and if after verification it is concluded that your claim is covered by the guarantee, the defective product will be repaired or replaced with the same or a comparable item.
If implemented, Bed Republic will cover the costs of repair, spare parts, labor, and travel to the home of personnel that the service entails, provided that the costs incurred for the repair do not exceed the value of the product and the product is accessible for repair at no additional cost. These provisions do not apply to repairs not authorized by Bed Republic.
The warranty applies to materials and accessories replaced or repaired during the warranty period, within the limit of the warranty period remaining from the date of replacement or repair. In the event that the item is no longer sold by Bed Republic, and in the event of total impossibility of repair recognized by Bed Republic, or if the cost of repairs exceeds the value of the item, and except for the implementation of the legal warranty, Bed Republic will offer an equivalent replacement item. The replacement of the defective product does not extend the initial warranty period.
What are the general exclusions from the warranty?
Unless otherwise agreed, the warranty does not apply to use in public or professional places. The warranty does not apply to products that have been improperly stored or assembled, that have been subject to misuse such as the use of an unsuitable bed base or modification, that have been cleaned with incorrect methods or products, to products that have been used inappropriately or have been subject to abuse, for example, that have been used outdoors. The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear such that it does not affect the daily use or safety of the product, nor damage caused by, among other things, theft, falling or impact of an object, fire, discoloration in light, burns, excessive humidity or dry heat, cuts, scratches, any impregnation by liquid, or damage for which a third party is liable or resulting from intentional or willful misconduct. The warranty does not cover indirect or incidental damage.
The mattress warranty does not cover your mattress if the box spring used with it has any sagging or unevenness that could cause a defect in the mattress. More specifically, this warranty excludes:
- All mattresses not unpacked within one month of delivery. Therefore, mattresses that do not re-inflate cannot be reported more than 30 days after delivery;
- A normal decrease in the firmness of the foam which does not affect the general qualities of the mattress;
- Natural subsidence of materials, i.e. subsidence not exceeding 2.5 cm in height;
- Normal wear and tear from the intended use of the products, including caused by washing, such as pilling of fabrics;
- If you have attempted to alter or repair the mattress without our consent or if you have cleaned the products with inappropriate products or techniques;
- Minor imperfections and slight cosmetic defects;
- Tears, stains, soiling, burns, liquid damage and discoloration of materials that occur over time;
- Humidity, odors or mold (which can be caused, among other things, by the absence of a box spring);
- Individual or personal preferences regarding firmness, texture, comfort, etc.; j) individual or personal allergies or sensitivities.
- All contamination by fleas, bedbugs or other parasites;
- If the defect results from a force majeure event or a natural phenomenon beyond our control, including, without limitation, fire, flood or natural disaster.
Care instructions
Over time, a mattress can deform under body weight and mold to the shape of the sleeper. To ensure greater longevity, even wear, and less deformation of the mattress, we recommend turning the mattress every 15 days for the first 3 months, then every 2 to 3 months thereafter.
Ask for help turning your mattress. Never attempt to do it alone. Vacuuming the mattress helps remove dust and dust mites. This is the only method recommended by Bed Republic.
If the mattress stains, use a cold water and soap solution or an upholstery cleaner. Lightly dampen the mattress. The mattress should not be soaked with water or any other liquid.
Avoid chemicals that can damage your mattress and also be detrimental to your health. A mattress topper provides excellent protection for your mattress and extends its lifespan. Easy to turn and flip, it makes your bed more hygienic because it can be easily removed to air the mattress.
Never fold a mattress in half. This could damage the springs and materials inside. If you must fold the mattress to fit through a narrow doorway, curve it slightly. When carrying the mattress, carry it on its side. This is easier and helps prevent damage. Only use the handles on the sides of the mattress to turn it, never to carry it.
Hygiene: Over time, an old mattress accumulates dust, skin flakes and other organic waste that dust mites feed on.
This is why, although we guarantee any manufacturing defect in materials for a period of 10 years following the purchase of the product, we nevertheless recommend that our customers renew their bedding every 5 to 10 years for better hygiene and to avoid the emergence of allergy problems, asthma, etc. It is a reasonable investment in improving comfort and for better hygiene.
Where does this warranty apply?
The Bed Republic guarantee applies only to mainland France and the French islands that are part of the European continent (Corsica, Île de Batz, Île de Ré, etc.), excluding the French overseas territories. For French islands that are part of the European continent (Corsica, Île de Batz, Île de Ré, etc.), the provision may incur additional costs to be borne by the customer.
How to enforce the warranty?
All you have to do is call us on +33 1 89 62 39 75 (local call rate) within the 10-year period indicated. Monday to Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.* , or send us an email via our contact form , or directly to help@bedrepublic.fr.
Warranty claims must include a clear description of the defect, photos of the defect and the bed base used, and proof of purchase of the product. Failure to provide photos or an inaccurate description may delay the defect's processing under the 10-year warranty or result in it not being exercised.
After inspection of the defect by our Bed Republic warranty department, it will decide whether the product is defective and whether the conditions for applying the warranty are met.
Defective products must be returned and return shipping costs will be refunded if the defect is found to be eligible for the 10-year warranty.
Any claim under this warranty must be received within 30 days of your discovery of the defect or the date on which you should reasonably have discovered the defect, and, in any event, before the end of the warranty period.
Please note that no refunds will be issued under the 10-year warranty, unlike the 90-night trial guarantee.
If the problem is covered by the warranty:
- Either your mattress or box spring is repaired or it is replaced with an equivalent product.
- The repaired or replaced product is shipped and delivered at our expense - please note that shipping can only be made to the country chosen when the mattress was initially delivered
If it is determined that your request is not covered by the warranty, the Bed Republic warranty department will contact you so that you can choose between delivery of the mattress or box spring (at your expense) or its destruction (at our expense). If there is no response within 30 days, the mattress or box spring will be automatically destroyed at Bed Republic's expense.
